Maximum city - a novel in 1500 parts.
I don't read anymore, so may raise an eyebrow and ask why? to which my reply would be, i don't know. Cause i really dont know. The last i remember reading voraciously was when i was way back in school. I wanted to steal every single book in the library and hide in the playground and read it all. The library period for me was always very short, so short that i never got to read more than 50 pages of any book that i couldn't borrow to take home. I'd come back, re-read sections until it was time to cram the remaining 50 page installment.
I didn't pick comics, or the usual national geographic magazines that most of my classmates went for, for me it was always some nondescript book, the kinds i dont even remember to drop a name now. Oh yes i remember reading a lot of enid blyton, although sureptitiously, for on discovery one might be the butt of jokes from burly classmates who thought nat geo or porn was way too cooler to read than enid blyton.
While then, it was the fact that i never got to read what i wanted, enough, now its another issue, i have no interest to chase down and read the latest books on the stands from writers who blast their way into 'librosphere' thanks to a two sentence mention in a couple of magazines about their distinct style, or narrative.
The last book i read was maximum city by suketu mehta, well can i claim to have finished it? Its open for contest.
